Carlos was born and raised in Amarillo, Texas. He graduated from Caprock High School in 1992. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was stationed in San Diego, California from 1993 to 1997. He received an Honorable Discharge and moved back to Texas to attend college. He worked full time and went to school while deciding where the future would take him. He received his Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in 2002. He worked for BWXT Pantex until 2007 when he decided to pursue a career in medicine. He received his Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in August 2009. He received his clinical training with greater Amarillo area physicians and physician assistants. He began his career with Dr. Parker assisting during surgery and clinical settings in September 2009. He has loved every minute and is looking forward to his future in medicine. He is married to his high school sweetheart who has always supported all his decisions. They are the proud parents of two beautiful daughters. His oldest was an inspiration for his desire to be in medicine and a miracle. She was born 3 months early and weighed 2 lbs. 6 oz. He loves his time with his family and being a coach to his girls in soccer and other various sports. His hobbies include playing soccer, hunting, golfing, skiing, backpacking and mountain biking. He loves doing any and all activities that make people ask “Don’t you think you should slow down and realize your not young anymore?” His goals in life are to make a difference, show respect to everyone and never disappoint anyone.
